Iconic landmarks in the UAE, including the world tallest building, Burj Khalifa in Dubai and the Sheikh Zayed Bridge in Abu Dhabi, were lit up in the colours of the Chinese national flag on Sunday night to express solidarity with Beijing over the deadly outbreak of the novel coronavirus.
The UAE leadership under President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan has expressed its readiness to support the Chinese government and cooperate with the international community to fight against and triumph over the coronavirus epidemic.
Earlier an artificial Intelligence(AI) and Cloud Computing company in the UAE, G42, had extended its expertise to China to contain and control the spread of the new coronavirus.
Many other landmark buildings in the UAE were also emblazoned with the Chinese national flag including the Capital Gate, the Abu Dhabi Global Market, the Emirates Palace and the Hazza bin Zayed Stadium in Al Ain.
China's death toll from the coronavirus epidemic soared past 360 on Monday, with deepening global concern about the outbreak and governments closing their borders to people from China.
Since the outbreak of the disease in China, five cases of the novel coronavirus have so far been detected in the UAE.
