Mr Jawed Ashraf, senior officials from IE Singapore, CEOs of leading Indian companies with offices here as well as business leaders and professional in Singapore.
Speaking about the conclave and his visit to Singapore, Dr Pant said, “We want various people across the business sectors to ‘meet IIFT’. The institute is a major exporter of services from India. To me, Singapore is much more important to India than China. Because of the nature of their economy, they are on the cutting edge. In terms of financial services, they are the capital of Asia, and every major foreign company in the world has a regional office in the island nation, which is why IIFT goes there.”
IIFT was established in 1963 by the Government of India to train international business and trade professionals. Over 50 years, it has grown to become a premier management school. Many global trading companies in Singapore and around the world will have IIFTians in leadership positions, and IIFTians work in banking and financial services sector as well as the IT industry in the island nation.
KV Rao, Resident Director of Tata Sons in ASEAN and an alumnus of IIFT, said, “In a liberal and intertwined world, international trade was the key lever that kept multilateralism and economic development going for decades, times are changing now – social, economic, technological and political changes seem to challenge this order today.” Rao is set to be a keynote speaker at the conclave.
Mrigank Ojha, president of IIFT Alumni Association, said, "It is an opportunity to listen to eminent speakers share their views on how recent global political and economic developments along with IOT, AI/WATSON, other new technologies will impact global business. Participants can learn from real examples of technology adoption and what's happening below the cloud of technology jargon and hype.”
