After India’s nail-biting victory at the Asia Cup, tournament captain Rohit Sharma was at at the Le Meridien Sentosa in Singapore last Sunday for The Hitman Show, organised by Events Kingdom, which included a candid interview where the audience got to know Rohit off the field.
Hosted by the head of content of Connected To India Punam Sharrma, the audience had a great laugh as Rohit recounted some of the funny moments from the Asia Cup. “A lot of players say a lot of things on the field, but you need to focus on your game,” he said when asked about the conversation between him and a Bangladeshi bowler.
“When I am off-field I usually take time out to reflect on my game or myself as a human or even as a good husband,” said Rohit when asked about his favourite pastime. “Ritika has two dogs, so I am normally playing with them and I really feel animals don't have the liberty to speak and so we must help them out.”
During the Q and A session, there was a young cricketer who asked Rohit what could they do in order to train and when did he start playing cricket. “Enjoy the game right now. I started training when I was 20 years old, but you should really just enjoy your game right now and have fun!” was his response.
“My father has always supported me and let me chase my dream, still feels like I am living it and I also did well in my studies so to all the young cricketers there, I would say chase your goal, but studies are also important,” he explained.
