An Indian-Canadian couple’s latest video revealed certain misconceptions they had about each other’s cultures before getting married.

The video was shared by the couple on their Instagram page named ‘Indian_Canadian_Couple’ on August 2 and since then it has earned 134,963 likes and netizens even debated over the viewpoints shared by them.

Sharing the video, the couple wrote in the caption section: “Lies which were fed to us before marriage. Real love wins over stereotypes.”

The video begins with the woman Danielle saying: “Before marrying my Indian husband, people told me that Indians have two wives.”

She said she was warned before her marriage that she would get raped in India.

She said she was even informed that Indians do not use deodorants.

Ekansh, her husband, said before his marriage people told him that Danielle would divorce her.

He said he was even warned that his Canadian wife would take all his money and leave him empty-handed.

Reacting to their video, one person wrote in the comment section: “Indians don’t have two wives.”

“I am married to my Indian husband for almost 10 years I love him to death [sic.],” another internet user wrote.
