National award winner, Indian filmmaker Onir’s documentary film – Raising the Bar – has been selected for the annual Maryland International Film Festival.
The 118-minute documentary, which is about six young individuals diagnosed with Down Syndrome, follows their stories at the World Down Syndrome Congress in Chennai, India.
“Very heartening to see our film being selected for and winning awards worldwide. A film is about celebrating diversity,” Onir said in a statement.
Famous Indian actress Vidya Balan had launched the film in Melbourne as of the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne.

The Maryland International Film Festival will be held in Hagerstown, Maryland, from March 31 to April 2.
