Indian fitness brand goes international with expansion to Dubai

Making its first foray into the international market, Bengaluru-based healthcare platform Cure.fit has launched a new fitness centre, Cult.fit at the Palm Strip Mall in Dubai.

The startup plans to open 10 Cult centres in 2019 and many more across the Emirates by 2020.

“The growing awareness about healthy living and beating obesity amongst the Dubai population, besides the significant shift in demand from traditional gyms to newer group workout formats has been the key thrust for cult.fit to launch in Dubai,” said Ankit Nagori, co-founder of Cure.fit.

In India, Cure.fit has about 160 centres spread across 6 cities and has expanded considerably with the acquisition of Fitness First, Cult and Tribe Fitness. The startup plans to open 800 centres in 50 Indian cities by 2020.

Founded in 2016 by Mukesh Bansal and Nagori, the startup has four verticals: Cult.fit – focusing on physical strength and fitness; eat.fit – focusing on healthy and nutritious food; mind.fit – offering mental well-being facilities, and care.fit – primarily focusing on healthcare.

Cure.fit is funded by top investors like Accel Partners, Kalaari Capital, Chiratae Ventures, Ratan Tata, IDG Ventures and Pratithi Investment Trust, among others and has raised over USD200 million in funding so far.
