A man from northern India’s Uttar Pradesh did not follow the path of vengeance and instead decided to get his wife married to her lover after coming to know about their relationship.
The unique incident was reported from the state’s Sant Kabir Nagar district.
It was quite opposite to an incident in Meerut — a city in UP — where a woman, Muskan Rastogi, along with her lover Sahil, are accused of killing her husband, Saurabh Rajput.
They allegedly chopped his body and disposed of it inside a drum.
On the contrary, Babloo, who worked as a labourer in another state, decided to get his wife Radhika married to her lover.
According to reports, Babloo married Radhika in 2017, and the couple have two children, aged 7 and 9.
Babloo’s wife began having an affair with a young man in the region when her husband went to the other state to earn his livelihood.
Radhika’s in-laws informed her husband about the affair after they came to know about it.
While Babloo tried to work things out, when he was unable to do so, he informed the villagers about his wife’s affair with the young man, India Today reported.
He first went to court and solemnised the marriage of his wife and her lover, and then took them to a temple, where they exchanged garlands and wedding vows, the Indian newspaper reported.
Babloo informed his wife that he wanted to keep their children, and she agreed to his proposal.
Babloo wanted to avoid Meerut-like incident
Babloo said he did not want a repeat of the Meerut-like incident.
“I decided to arrange their marriage to avoid potential harm to myself. In recent days, we have seen that husbands have been killed by their wives,” Bablu told PTI.
“After seeing what happened in Meerut, I decided to get my wife married to her lover so that we both can live peacefully,” he added.
