An Indian-origin family from Kerala, including two minor children, were found dead in an apparent murder-suicide case in the US state of California, police said.
They were found dead at their residence in San Mateo, California, on Tuesday.
According to reports, the family members were identified as Anand Sujith Henry, 42, his wife Alice Priyanka, 40, and their 4-year-old twins Noah and Neithan.
In a statement, San Mateo police said: “On Monday, February 12, 2024, at 9:13 a.m., San Mateo Police officers were dispatched to the 4100 block of Alameda de las Pulgas on the report of a welfare check. After arriving officers were met with no response, they searched the perimeter of the home and did not see any signs of forced entry into the house.”
“Finding an unlocked window, officers entered the home and located four people dead; 1 adult male, 1 adult female, and two children,” police said.
The police said the two children were found deceased inside a bedroom.
“Their cause of death is still under investigation. The male and female were located deceased from gunshot wounds inside a bathroom. A 9mm pistol and a loaded magazine were also found in the bathroom,” police said in a statement.
The San Mateo County Coroner took custody of the four bodies and is working to positively identify each person and notify next of kin.

Anand and Alice were IT professionals.
They have been living in the USA for the past several years.
Anand worked as a software engineer.
His wife was a senior analyst.

He was a doctoral student at Indiana’s Purdue University.
Recently, 19-year-old Shreyas Reddy Beniger, a student at the Lindner School of Business in Ohio, was found dead.
Purdue University student Neel Acharya was found dead on the university campus, hours after his mother had reported him missing.
Vivek Saini, from Haryana, was hammered to death by a homeless man in Georgia’s Lithonia on Jan 16.
Akul Dhawan, another Indian student, was found dead outside the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in January.
Hyderabad student injured after being chased and attacked by four men in Chicago
Meanwhile, a student from Hyderabad has received grave injuries after being attacked by four armed robbers near his house in the US state of Chicago.
A video showed the student, who was bleeding profusely, stating that he was kicked and punched by the robbers. The robbers also snatched his phone.
The victim, identified as Syed Mazahir Ali from Langar Houz in Hyderabad, had gone to the US to pursue a Master’s degree from Indiana Wesleyan University.
