With the COVID-19 pandemic surging in India with a record high number of cases, the Indian government has announced that international flights will remain suspended till September 30.
"However, international scheduled flights may be allowed on selected routes by the competent authority on a case-to-case basis," said the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) in a circular.
India had announced the suspension of international passenger flights on March 23 in view of the growing coronavirus pandemic.
The only international flights operational are those being operated under the repatriation Vande Bharat Mission since May and those that fall under bilateral air bubble arrangements with other countries since July.
