IT and digital technologies graduates from the Class of 2018 had the highest full-time permanent employment rate at 91.7 percent.
They also commanded the highest median salary, according to the 2018 Joint Graduate Employment Survey released Tuesday, February 26, 2019.
The median gross monthly salary of graduates from IT and digital technologies courses was SGD 4,100 for full-time permanent jobs.
The figure is significantly higher than the overall median of SGD3,500; and is 37 percent higher than graduates of arts, design and media courses, who earned the lowest median gross monthly salary of SGD3,000.
Business and built environment graduates also enjoy the highest full-time permanent employment rates, alongside IT and technology graduates in 2018.
This is the first time the annual survey is presenting employment outcomes by course clusters. Covering 11,200 fresh graduates, the survey found that the Class of 2018 had higher overall and full-time permanent employment rates than the previous cohort. Those in full-time permanent employment also reported higher median starting pay.
The latest edition of the employment survey was conducted by Nanyang Technological University (NTU), the National University of Singapore (NUS), Singapore Management University (SMU) and, for the first time, the Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS).
