Joe Biden picks all-female senior White House communications team

United States President-elect Joe Biden on Sunday announced an all-female senior White House communications team.

President-elect Biden and Vice President-elect Harris today announced new members of the White House staff who will serve in senior communications roles.

"I am proud to announce today the first senior White House communications team comprised entirely of women," Biden said in a statement. "These qualified, experienced communicators bring diverse perspectives to their work and a shared commitment to building this country back better."

7 appointments were made by Biden. Jen Psaki was named as White House press secretary. Psaki was previously White House communications director for the Barack Obama-Biden administration.

Kate Bedingfield, Biden's deputy campaign manager, was named as White House communications director.

Ashley Etienne was named as communications director for Vice-President Kamala Harris and Symone Sanders as her senior advisor and chief spokeswoman.

Pili Tobar was named deputy White House communications director and Karine Jean Pierre will be principal deputy press secretary.
