The first six months of 2019 has seen an 18 per cent increase in Indian businesses signing up to be members of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry. In all 2,208 Indian-owned firms took membership.
The total number of Indian members is now 38,704 with Indian firms accounting for 24.4 per cent of new member companies registered at the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry between January and June.
According to reports, in this same period the Dubai Chamber’s representative office in Mumbai held as many as 124 meetings with investors in India keen to enter the Dubai market.
India is Dubai’s second-largest trading partner. Its bilateral non-oil trade was valued at Dh 116 billion in 2018, dominated by precious metals and pearls, mineral products and base metals.
