Popular OTT platform ZEE5 Global has announces the launch of Mrs., a film directed by Arati Kadav.
Mrs. is a powerful and thought-provoking film that delves into the everyday struggles of women while tackling critical issues such as gender inequality, societal expectations, and personal growth, all without compromising on entertainment.
Starring Sanya Malhotra in the lead role, Mrs. follows the journey of a young bride who finds herself drowning in an ocean of household chores, all while her aspirations of becoming a dancer slowly fade into the background.
Produced by Jio Studios in association with Baweja Studios, this film sheds light on the patriarchal mindset and a woman’s silent struggle to preserve her sense of self.
Mrs. will premiere on ZEE5 Global on February 7.
Plot
As seen in the trailer, Mrs. follows the journey of a young woman, Richa (Sanya Malhotra), whose dreams of becoming a dancer take a backseat when she is married into a traditional family with a patriarchal mindset.
Suddenly, she’s overwhelmed by an endless pile of household chores, all while her in-law’s mantra of “the kitchen is a woman’s domain” echoes in her mind.
As she battles the overwhelming weight of expectations and sees her dreams fade, something inside her shifts.
Will Richa continue to submit to a system that gives her nothing but oppression, or will she take a bold step that surprises both her family and herself? The question is: can one woman ignite a revolution in her own home? Watch Mrs. to find out.
