Mahatma Gandhi, one of the most popular Indian leaders in the history of India, fascinates not just Indians but people all over the world. To celebrate this, Yugpurush – Mahatma na Mahatma, a captivating representation of the relationship between Shrimadji Rajchandraji's and Gandhiji, is coming to Singapore in multi-languages.
Shrimad Rajchandraji, honoured as the spiritual guide of Mahatma Gandhi, had a tremendous and formative influence on the Father of the Nation. The year 2017 marks the 150th birth anniversary of Shrimad Rajchandraji. Commemorating this glorious occasion, and under the able guidance of Pujya Gurudevshri Rakeshbhai, the founder and inspiration behind Shrimad Rajchandra Mission Dharampur (SRMD) embodies the teachings for the present age.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the occasion of India’s 70th Independence Day, brought to the forefront the message of Ahimsa imparted by Shrimad Rajchandraji to Mahatma Gandhi, during the latter’s stay in South Africa.
“Yugpurush – Mahatma na Mahatma is a heart-touching play inspired by Pujya Gurudevshri Rakeshbhai and presented by Shrimad Rajchandra Mission Dharampur, revealing the untold story of the profound spiritual relationship between Shrimad Rajchandraji and Mahatma Gandhi. This initiative aims to benefit society by spreading Shrimad Rajchandraji’s values of ahimsa and satya that shaped Mahatma Gandhi's beliefs,” PM Modi said.
The play, which has been showcased over 1000 times, depicts the making of the Mahatma. What began as an honest friendship, progressed to Gandhiji proclaiming Shrimadji as his spiritual mentor.
The play is directed by acclaimed director Rajesh Joshi of 'Code Mantra' fame, and scripted by well-known playwright Uttam Gada of 'Maharathi' fame. The music direction is by popular composer duo Sachin – Jigar.
