A 16-year-old girl from Mumbai has become the youngest Indian to scale Mt. Everest. Kaamya Karthikeyan successfully climbed the world’s highest peak from the Nepal side, the Indian Navy said on Thursday.
Kaamya was accompanied by her father, Cdr S Karthikeyan, and the duo achieved the feat on May 20. The teenager is a student of class 12 and attends Navy Children School in Mumbai.
As per reports, their Everest expedition started on April 3.
With this success, Kaamya has now climbed the highest peaks in six continents. She now plans to scale Mount Vinson Massif in Antarctica in December.
