Billionaire Elon Musk removed former Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal just days after he bought the micro-blogging site in a much-talked-about deal in October last year.
A report published in The Wall Street Journal claimed that Musk and Agrawal had met over dinner in 2022, much before the deal was reached.
According to reports, Musk was not much impressed by Agrawal.
The WSJ report is based on the excerpt from a biography of Musk that will be published this month.
The book is written by Walter Isaacson.
After meeting with the then-Twitter CEO, Musk had said that Agrawal was a ‘really nice guy’ but that isn’t what is needed to be a CEO. Musk, as per the excerpt, thought that in order to be a CEO, one doesn’t have to be liked by people, reports India Today quoting the WSJ piece.
Isaacson then added that after the dinner, Musk said, “What Twitter needs is a fire-breathing dragon. And Parag is not that.”
After removing Agrawal, Musk acted as the CEO of the micro-blogging site till June 2023 when he appointed Linda Yaccarino to the post.
Recently, Musk even changed the name of Twitter to X.
