For the first time since February, there was not a single Singaporean or Permanent Resident amongst the daily tally of COVID-19 cases reported by the Ministry of Health.
As of 12 pm on May 28, Ministry of Health (MOH) reported 373 new cases of the virus, the vast majority of whom are Work Permit holders residing in foreign worker dormitories.
The national tally of infections now stands at 33,249.
Only one community case was reported, who is a Work Pass holder. The case was picked up through active screening of preschool staff, and was asymptomatic, MOH said.
The number of new cases in the community has decreased, from an average of 6 cases per day in the week before, to an average of 5 per day in the past week.
Meanwhile, 1,018 more cases of COVID-19 infection have been discharged from hospitals or community isolation facilities.
