The Ministry of Health (MOH) has announced the closure of NTUC Foodfare at 308 Anchorvale Road as it investigates cases of COVID-19 infection amongst individuals who work there.
“Our epidemiological investigations have found that there is likely ongoing transmission at the coffee shop. To break any potential chain of transmission and enable deep cleaning of the premises, NTUC Foodfare at 308 Anchorvale Road has been closed to all members of the public starting from 30 May 2021 and will re-open 14 days later, on 13 June 2021,” read an MOH release.
The ministry is also offering free COVID-19 testing for those who visited 308 Anchorvale Road from 13 May to 30 May, 2021.
“All visitors to 308 Anchorvale Road from 13 May to 30 May are advised to monitor their health closely for 14 days from their date of visit. They are encouraged to visit a Regional Screening Centre or “Swab and Send Home” (SASH) Public Health Preparedness Clinic for a free COVID-19 test,” the release added.
On Sunday, Foodfare posted on Facebook that its staff would undergo COVID-19 tests during the closure of the Anchorvale outlet.
As of Sunday, there are seven COVID-19 cases linked to the Foodfare outlet on Anchorvale Road.
These include: a 33 year-old male Malaysia national who works as a kitchen assistant at Hua Zai Eating House, a 23-year-old Malaysian national who works as a cook at West Grill Station (Anchorvale), along with five more including four kitchen assistants who work at Hua Zai HK Style Roasted Delight Rice Noodle in the Anchorvale coffee shop as well as Hua Zai HK Style Roasted Delights in Hougang Green Shopping Mall.
