OCBC Bank has decided to give SGD 600,000 as part of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives for various social causes ranging from vulnerable children, youths and families to people with special needs and also for environmental issues in Singapore.
In addition to this, OCBC Bank has also given SGD 300,000 in December last year for starting nine projects.
One of the projects was starting of a disability clinic for special needs people to provide medical help when they fell ill. This was done through Movement for the Intellectually Disabled in Singapore (Minds).
The CSR initiative of OCBC Bank has impressed Ang Song Mong so much that he decided to donate about 1500 eggs free for a food distribution programme. He is the proprietor of Ang Seng Eggs Supplier.
Ang Song said, “I am just doing my part to help. If everyone chips in, we will succeed in building a caring society.”
There are about 15 charity partners of OCBC Bank which include Dyslexia Association of Singapore, HCA Hospice, KK Children and Women Hospital, National Library Board (kidsRead), St Andrews Autism Centre, Student Care Services and Willing Hearts.
OCBC Bank fund has provided help to more than 3000 people and 2,500 families in Singapore.
