Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be in the United States from September 21 till September 27 during which he will hold a bilateral meeting with President Donald Trump, along with several other bilateral meetings with various leaders, address the Indian diaspora in Houston and address the United Nations General Assembly.
Here is a look at Modi’s schedule for his visit to the US:
September 21
- Arrival in Houston, Texas
- Roundtable conference with several chief executives of energy sector companies like BP, Exxon Mobil and Becker Hewes
September 22
- ‘Howdy, Modi!’ event where Modi will address a 50,000-strong crowd of Indian-Americans along with US President Donald Trump
- Interactive session with members of the US Congress
September 23
- Speak at the Climate Summit organised by UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres
- Attend the universal health coverage summit where Ayushmann Bharat will be showcased as the world's largest healthcare initiative
- Invited to speak at the ‘leaders' dialogue on strategic responses to terrorist and violent extremist narratives, jointly hosted by the King of Jordan, the New Zealand Prime Minister, the French President and the UN Secretary General
September 24
- Event to commemorate the 150th anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi at the UN, including the inauguration of the Gandhi Solar Park
- PM Modi will be presented with an award by Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation at the Lincoln Centre for the Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan
