“With the direction of IDF intelligence, the IAF struck approximately 30 Hezbollah launchers and terrorist infrastructure sites, containing approximately 150 launcher barrels that were ready to fire projectiles toward Israeli territory,” it said.
While the Hezbollah has not commented on the Wednesday incident, both Lebanon and the militant outfit held Israel responsible for the Tuesday attack.
As per reports, Mossad planted ‘as little as one to two ounces’ (about 60 grams) of explosive materials next to Lithium batteries of the AR-294 pagers manufactured under the brand name of a Taiwanese company named Gold Apollo.
Reacting to the events, the Lebanese Foreign Ministry described the explosions as a “dangerous and deliberate Israeli escalation”.
Country’s Defense Minister Yoav Gallant posted on X: “The action carried out by the IDF yesterday to curb the Hezbollah attack strengthened the State of Israel…”
Confirming the strikes, the IDF said in a statement on Monday night that it attacked Hezbollah weapons storage hours after an IDF officer was killed in an explosive drone attack on northern Israel.
The fear stems from Israel’s vow to avenge Saturday’s attack. The country has threatened to launch a military operation to make Hezbollah pay a heavy price.
