At least 24 people were killed and 46 others injured in a blast which took place at Quetta Railway Station in Pakistan’s Balochistan province on Saturday, media reports said.
The incident “seems to be a suicide blast”, Dawn reported quoting Quetta Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Operations Mohammad Baloch.
Probe is underway to detect the cause of the explosion.
About 100 people were present at the site when the blast took place.
Quetta is the capital and largest city of Balochistan, a region witnessing insurgency in demand of independence and expulsion of Chinese presence for its CPEC project.
The blast occurred on the platform at the railway station when a train was ready to depart for Peshawar.
Police and security forces have reached the site.
The toll is expected to rise as several wounded passengers are in critical condition.
