Singaporeans love cats, no doubt about that. The cat café craze originated in Japan, and it didn’t take too long before Singapore started seeing similar concept cafés sprouting up around the island.
If your idea of a purrfect afternoon is coffees, cakes and some furry friends, these are a few feline cafés you definitely need to visit!
Cat Café Neko No Niwa
The first of its kind in Singapore, Neko No Niwa (the name means cat garden in Japanese) is located in a shophouse at Boat Quay. All 13 cats at this café are adopted. You can also enjoy some coffee and cakes while you pet a purring feline.
One in a while, the café holds yoga sessions, so that you can delight in having furry things rub against your calf as you try to concentrate on your sun salutations.
Note that this café has strict rules on allowing children in – kids must be seven years old and above, and parental supervision is required.

The café also donates a portion of their profits to a local animal shelter, Animal Lovers League.

Lion City Kitty: The Cat Museum, Muses & Mansion
This is not exactly a cat café, but it deserves a place on this list!
The Cat Museum features three storeys of dedication to these furry creatures – from the history of cats, to photographs and curated artworks of local artists (feline-related, of course).
The star of this place is a grumpy-looking Persian named Brad Pitt. The cats housed on top floor (level four), which is the superstar area, have Hollywood names like Julia Roberts, Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie.
It also partners up with The Cat Welfare Society, a local feline rescue group, to encourage adoption. The cats on level three are from SPCA (Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) and are actually up for adoption! So if you can actually literally bring one of them home if you want to.
