United States President Joe Biden has revoked a ban put in place by the Donald Trump administration which blocked many green card applicants from entering the country.
The ban had been put in place in 2020 by President Trump with the reasoning that it protected US workers amid rising unemployment due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Biden has been reversing many of Trump’s immigration policies which were viewed as hardline by immigrant advocacy groups. As he rescinded the ban on green card applicants, Biden said it had prevented families from reuniting in the United States and harmed American businesses.
Biden however left in place another ban on most foreign temporary workers.
