Princeton students of Global Health in Nation’s Service Initiative

Kishan Bhatt and Nabil Shaikh are among the 10 Princeton University students who have been chosen for 2017 Scholars in the Nation's Service Initiative, the university declared recently.

The highly competitive scholarship program aims to provide students with the language and workplace skills required to succeed in the public policy arena. The rigorous academic training is integrated with work experience.

Seniors and first-year master’s in public affairs students are among the scholars while freshmen, sophomores, and juniors are among the applicants for the new SINSI internships.

Kishan Bhatt
As per the university release, Kishan Bhatt, a student of a class of 2017 from Edison New Jersey, is a Woodrow Wilson School concentrator.  He is a certificate candidate in global health as well as American studies.

The Indian American is a US health policy scholar at Princeton’s Center for Health and Wellbeing. Kishan cares deeply about policies that encourage medical innovation, disease prevention, and value-based healthcare delivery.

In 2016, Kishan analysed clinical cost and outcomes data for Remedy Partners, a technology start-up that serves 1,300 hospitals participating in Medicare’s $12 billion Bundled Payment for Care Improvement program.

He has previously researched in counter-bioterrorism strategy at the Federation of American Scientists.

Nabil Shaikh

Nabil, of Reading Pa., is a politics major and a certificate candidate in global health and policy and in values and public life.
Nabil cares about global access to healthcare and health disparities. He has spent his time at Princeton understanding the various actors and policies shape health and wellness in society.

Nabil is active in the Muslim Life Program, Muslim Advocates for Social Justice and the Office of Religious Life. He has worked as a treasurer for the Pace Council for Civic Values and as a freshman trip leader for Community Action.
