The Ministry of Health has reported 142 new COVID-19 cases in Singapore as of 12 pm on June 19. The national tally of infections is now 41,615.
The vast majority of the new infections are work permit holders residing in foreign worker dormitories.
There is only one case in the community – a prison inmate on a social visit pass, who had arrived in Singapore before the implementation of border measures. The man had been segregated from the general inmate population since his admission to Changi Prison Complex on June 6.
Although he is asymptomatic, he was tested as part of Singapore Prison Service’s proactive screening of newly admitted inmates.There are no Singaporean/ Permanent Resident cases on June 19.
747 more cases of COVID-19 infection were discharged from hospitals or community isolation facilities.
