Sakura Afternoon Tea at Raffles Hotel Singapore celebrates Japan’s cherry blossoms

From 1 to 14 April 2025, Raffles Hotel Singapore will allow visitors to experience the elegance of spring through its annual Sakura Afternoon Tea at The Grand Lobby. This special event celebrates the beauty of Japan’s cherry blossoms, offering a unique and delightful afternoon tea experience amidst the hotel’s stunning chandeliers and Victorian colonnades.

Executive Pastry Chef Tai Chien Lin has crafted a collection of Sakura-inspired delicacies, each reflecting the soft pink hues of the season.

The afternoon tea begins with a selection of five exquisite sweet treats, including the delicate Sakura Azuki Roll Cake, a harmonious blend of sponge cake, fresh cream, and red beans, and the Sakura Coconut Miso Verrine, a layered dessert featuring a Sakura jelly base, coconut miso panna cotta, and coconut jelly.

Other standout creations include the Shiso Yuzu Sablé with its zesty yuzu curd and the refreshing Sakura Raspberry Mont Blanc. The Sakura Tea Shortcake offers a light and ethereal treat that is both visually stunning and delicious.

After enjoying these sweet indulgences, visitors are treated to a savoury selection inspired by traditional Japanese flavours. Highlights include Crab Salad Tart with Tobiko, Inari Beef Teriyaki, Salmon Avocado Maki, and Chef Tai’s Tamagoyaki Sando — a modern twist on the classic rolled omelette.

Presented on a three-tiered silver stand, the Sakura Afternoon Tea is complemented by Raffles Hotel’s signature homemade scones in original, raisin, and savoury flavours, served with clotted cream and rose petal jam.

Visitors can pair their tea with a selection of JING single-garden loose leaf teas or Raffles custom blended coffee, or elevate the experience with a glass of Sakura Sling or Billecart-Salmon Champagne.

The Grand Lobby’s décor, featuring elegant Sakura tree displays, creates the perfect setting for this seasonal indulgence, offering guests a picturesque backdrop to capture unforgettable memories.

For those who prefer to enjoy the Sakura Afternoon Tea at home, orders can be placed online via Raffles’ Grab and Go service.
