Salman Khan-starrer Tubelight is set to hit the screens on June 23 this year for an Eid release, and the first trailer of the film has been counting down for the past five days.
With different teaser posters released daily counting down to today, the hype for the trailer reached fever pitch, with fans of the Bollywood superstar taking to social media to express their excitement. The five posters released on social media highlight the upbeat nature of the film despite it being about war. In addition, the posters show that a lot of the movie is set in hilly country, which offers a great panorama for the fans. The trailer was released on schedule and can be found below. Salman Khan fans were very excited about the trailer release, which has almost 4 million views already.
Tubelight, which features Chinese actress Zhu Zhu, is gearing up for a mega release in the leading lady’s country. In an interview, Kabir Khan, director of the film, said, “Obviously, Salman Khan Films has taken a call to promote their film in a big way in China. Salman is expected to tour key Chinese cities to promote the film. This, despite him having stopped doing city tours to promote films, a while back.”
“China is a huge market. The number of theatres in the country are staggering. Plus, Tubelight does have a Chinese connection, including its leading lady. We are looking at the various possibilities of how to give the film a big release in China,” he added.
The film is produced by Salman Khan and Kabir Khan. Set in the 1962 Sino-Indian War, Salman Khan plays a man from India who falls in love with a girl from China, played by Zhu Zhu. It is confirmed that Shah Rukh Khan will play a cameo in the film. The film also marks the debut of child actor Matin Rey Tangu, from Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh, who Salman said he is very impressed by.
