Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan has recently said his upcoming project Rajkumar Hirani's 'Dunki' will release in Christmas, amid the massive success of his last film 'Jawan', which is still in theatres.
Now as per reports, SRK's 'Dunki' will be released on December 22, clashing with 'Salaar', which stars south Indian superstar Prabhas.
Earlier, SRK's 'Zero', which had a dismal run in the box office, clashed with 'KGF (first part) in Christmas 2018.
Film critic and business analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, "YES, IT’S TRUE… SRK VS PRABHAS, ‘DUNKI’ VS ‘SALAAR’ THIS CHRISTMAS… The exhibitors have received a mail stating that #Salaar will arrive THIS CHRISTMAS [on 22 Dec 2023]… An official announcement by the producers, #HombaleFilms, will be made on Friday [29 Sept 2023].
"This is the SECOND TIME #HombaleFilms is clashing with #SRK… In 2018 [#Christmas], it was #Zero vs #KGF [first part]. SRK had already blocked #Christmas [22 Dec 2023] for #Dunki… And now #Prabhas also stakes claim on 22 Dec 2023."
'Dunki', which is Khan's first collaboration with Hirani, features actress Taapsee Pannu in a lead role.
Prabhas' 'Salaar', which was earlier slated to release on September 28, has been rescheduled due to technical issues.
The movie is directed by Prashanth Neel and stars prominent actors Prithviraj Sukumaran, Shruti Haasan and Jagapathi Babu in pivotal roles.
