SIM International Academy, an international school set up under the Singapore Institute of Management (SIM), is now accepting applications for the upcoming academic year, which starts in September.
The school offers the four‐year Cambridge International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) Years 7 to 10 curriculum to students aged 12 to 16. The incoming cohort will be SIM IA’s second batch of students for this programme.
The institute will also be welcoming its first cohort of the two‐year Cambridge International A Level programme for students aged 16‐18.
Deadline for application is end of May 2018, and scholarships are provided to applicants who have achieved academic excellence and demonstrated special talents in specific fields of interest. Up to five scholarships are given out each year to cover the recipient’s tuition fee for the upcoming academic year. There is no bond. The deadline for scholarship applications is March 15.
Interested students and parents can head down to their Open House 2018 on March 3, 2018, from 10am to 4pm, at the campus itself. Visitors will have an opportunity to go on a campus tour, and meet the teaching staff, as well as interact with current students.
There will also be two sessions of STEM Workshops, each lasting an hour, for students aged 10 to 16 years old. The students will be introduced to the micro:bit, a small programmable card. They are required to work out its underlying principles or engineering uses, and learn the importance of guesswork and making mistakes, which is part of real‐world learning.
Another session of the STEM Workshop will be held on April 14, 2018, from 10.30am to 12pm. The content will be the same as the one held at the Open House.
