Singapore Airlines investigating as Melbourne man finds tooth in plane meal

Close on the heels of the detection of cameras on inflight entertainment systems on Singapore Airlines flights, another news has come out in which a passenger has complained that he found a human tooth in his in-flight meal while travelling from Wellington to Melbourne.

Singapore Airlines is investigating the matter.

“Singapore Airlines is aware that a customer travelling on flight SQ248 from Wellington to Melbourne on Tuesday, February 26, found what appeared to be a foreign object in their meal," said an SIA spokesperson as reported in Channel NewsAsia.

Earlier,  Bradley Button told Australian media that he was eating the rice in his in-flight meal when he heard a crunch and spat out a tooth.

“The flight attendant that came to me was adamant that she needed to take it away for testing and was trying to tell me that it was a small rock, when it was without a shadow of a doubt a tooth,” he said.

Button said he has lodged a complaint with the airline.

“As I have now lodged a formal complaint with the airline, I do not wish to comment further, providing them with an opportunity to resolve this situation,” he said.

Meanwhile, Singapore Airlines has apologised to Button for the experience and the object has been sent for analysis in Melbourne.

“We are currently investigating this incident and have sent the object for analysis. Once the results of the analysis are known, we will determine what the most appropriate course of action to take is,” a spokesman said in a statement.

“We expect all of our meals to meet a consistently high standard and we are disappointed in this discovery,” said Singapore Airlines.
