Singapore Airlines (SIA) has been overtaken by Air New Zealand in the latest best airline ranking, slipping to the second position.
All Nippon Airways took third place, continuing its dominance of Japanese aviation, AirlineRatings.com announced in its Airline Excellence Awards its 20 Top Airlines in the World for 2020.
It is followed by Qantas, Cathay Pacific and Emirates.
AirlineRatings.com said in a post that to be named in the top twenty, airlines must achieve a seven-star safety rating and demonstrate leadership in innovation for passenger comfort.
The index looked out for a consistent level of service, innovation and staff engagement from each major contender.
“We are looking for leadership and airlines that innovate to make a real difference to the passenger experience particularly in economy class," said Airlineratings.com Editor-in-Chief Geoffrey Thomas.
The review site also took into consideration the audited feedback from passengers on its website.
