The sixth edition of the Singapore Art Week kickstarted yesterday. An annual celebration of visual arts will be held until January 28. The twelve-day celebration of the arts will be taking place in venues across Singapore, from galleries and museums to art precincts and non-profit spaces.

More than 100 events will transform museums and public spaces around the island in this festival organised by the National Arts Council, Singapore Tourism Board and Singapore Economic Development Board.

Events such as a walk through a House Of Mirrors on Empress Lawn and the biggest light show are some of the shows to look out for. Pedestrians can view new murals and listen to music at Artwalk Little India.

Singapore Art Week reinforces Singapore’s position as Asia’s leading art destination. It offers a myriad of quality art experiences which span the visual arts, from traditional to modern to contemporary practices, while reaching out to both Singapore residents and international visitors. In order to promote art among visitors, also aims to galvanise the arts sector to launch innovative art and lifestyle concepts and events in conjunction with art events.

Projections will be played daily between at 8 pm to midnight on Fridays and Saturdays, and 10 pm on other days.
