Bollywood heartthrob Varun Dhawan is back and how! The dishy dude has been rigorously shooting for his next project with Alia Bhatt – Badrinath Ki Dulhaniya in Singapore.
Varun flew out of Singapore on November 12, but before bidding adieu to Sunny Singapore, Varun and Alia celebrated film's wrap up on the dance floor. Alia's sister Shaheen Bhatt also joined the duo.
While wrapping up the last leg of the shooting in Singapore. We caught up with the actor to get some sneak-peak. However, there were certain questions that remained un-answered like why is he named as 'Badrinath' in the film. But he tried his best to satiate our curiosity by replying to most of the questions.
Badrinath Ki Dulhaniya is the sequel (read the second installment) of 2014 hit comedy – Humpty Sharma ki Dulhaniya. Picturesque Singapore in the backdrop adds to the beauty. "We shot in many locales of Singapore including Sentosa Island, Universal Studios, Orchard Road, and Chinatown, have to say the people are extremely warm and helpful," says the actor who loved the food as well the hospitality.
The story of the film begins with certain hardships for the couple and their relationship takes a flight in Singapore. "We have even skidded around on an electric scooter here, gushes the 29-year-old actor.
While talking about different experience in Singapore and his fitness regime, Varun said, "We were shooting a couple of action scenes in Singapore which left my body with a lot of wear and tear. I got introduced to mike by the executive producer of our film. Mike came in like an angel and helped healed me. He knew how stiff I was so started with working on my flexibility and increasing my strength in my legs. In a matter of few days, I was up and running and started feeling stronger I got to train with Mike for 12 days during this period but my injuries have disappeared I have gained more muscle."
It's not only Varun who is impressed by his trainer Mahesh Desai (lovingly called Mike), even Mike has a word for the actor, "Varun is a dedicated guy, the kind that trainers love to train. We packed in a lot of workouts in the short span of time, sometimes even just 12 hours apart. Keeping in mind their shoot that varied between day and night. He eats very clean, so I didn't have to do much for his diet.
Interestingly, Singapore Tourism Board has played an active role in making the film unit comfortable in the island country. The board seems to be quite popular among the Indian filmmakers as this is not the first time that any Bollywood film has been shot here. Films like Krrish, De Dana Dan, Pyaar Impossible!, Biwi No. 1 and Aur Pyaar Ho Gaya.
The film scheduled to release in March 2017 is directed by Shashank Khaitan.
