Singapore Indian Development Association (SINDA) Project Give 2020 to focus on acts of care

As the Diwali – or Deepavali – festive season draws near, Singapore Indian Development Association (SINDA) is gearing up its year-round Project Give campaign with a focus on "Acts of Care" this year.

With the support of Little India Shopkeepers and Heritage Association (LiSHA) and the Indian Heritage Centure, Project Give 2020 aims to ensure that the less fortunate members of the community continue to be cared for in these challenging times.

SINDA will be working with a wide range of partners to ensure that the annual Deepavali vouchers and goodies continue to reach a larger number of beneficiaries. Volunteers with also check in with these families to ensure their needs are being taken care of.

Youth groups are also mobilised in house cleaning projects in the homes of elderly, in particular, those who are living alone.

"Project Give is more than just a fundraising campaign", said Anbarasu Rajendran, Chief Executiev Officer, SINDA. "It is also an opportunity for us to share more about SINDA's programmes and services, so that people can benefit from it."

In addition, through the SINDA Community Imapct Fund, SINDA is looking to support other organisations who are keen to implement their own community initiatives.
