Singapore Tourism Board (STB) will be issuing SGD100 local tourism vouchers to all Singapore citizens aged 18 and above in December.
Permanent Residents are not eligible for the vouchers.
Announcing the initiative on Wednesday, September 16, Trade and Industry Minister Chan Chun Sing said the SingapoRediscovers vouchers can be used to offset ticket prices for tours, attractions, and licensed hotel bookings. They will be valid from December this year to end of June 2021, coinciding with the school holidays.
"The vouchers will be fully digital and Singaporeans will need their SingPass details to access them securely," he wrote in a Facebook post. Details on how to redeem the vouchers will be sent to all households in November, ahead of the rollout.
Adult Singaporeans will also be able to purchase up to six subsidised tickets for attractions and tours for those under 18 from December 2020 to the end of June 2021.
"I hope that fellow Singaporeans will use this opportunity to explore and rediscover the things they love about Singapore, and support our homegrown businesses," Chan added. "By transforming and exploring new strategies, we can ensure that Singapore’s tourism industry remains resilient and ready to seize the opportunities that will come about when mass leisure travel resumes."
