In an operation mounted by Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) officers on August 3, a 64-year-old Singaporean male was arrested for suspected drug trafficking activities.
A total of about 240g of heroin, about 1.5g of ‘Ice’ and about 500 ‘Ecstasy’ tablets were seized. Cash amounting to SGD2,276 was also recovered during the operation.
The drugs seized are estimated to be worth about SGD30,000, CNB said in a statement.
Two pumpkins, each used to conceal about 240g of heroin and about 500 ‘Ecstasy’ tablets respectively, were found in his residence.
In the late evening of August 3, CNB officers were deployed in the vicinity of Clementi Avenue 5 to conduct observation on the man. He was seen bringing a basket, containing vegetables and produce, up a residential block in the vicinity.
Officers moved in swiftly to arrest the man when he returned to the ground floor with the basket. A total of about 0.4g of heroin, about 1g of ‘Ice’ and cash amounting to SGD2,276 were seized from him.
The man was brought to his residence in the same block and a search was conducted in the unit. Two pumpkins containing drugs were found. Also recovered from the unit were about 0.3g of heroin, about 0.5g of ‘Ice’ and other drug paraphernalia.
