Racial Harmony Day is held annually in Singapore on July 21. Traditionally on this day, Singaporeans celebrate diverse, cross-cultural character, and reflect on the importance of fostering harmony and understanding among all communities in the nation.
This year, the National Heritage Board has organised a wide variety of activities, events and exhibitions to celebrate racial harmony in the Lion City. Take a look at some of the upcoming events in July and August listed below:
My Family Stories of Racial Harmony
NHB in collaboration with Genealogy Society Singapore, reflects on the important national values embraced through families and grassroots stories, from kampong days in the 1960s to the integrated housing communities of today.

A staple of the Singaporean food culture, kueh (or kuih in Malay) are traditional snacks that are often made from glutinous rice, coconut, and gula melaka (palm sugar). Rentak Warisan is a bi-monthly showcase in collaboration with Singapore's original Malay music ensemble, Sri Mahligai. The programme aims to promote upcoming Malay Heritage Centre activities while entertaining audiences with thematically selected songs. For the Racial Harmony installment, the band will feature songs that have elements of multiculturalism and the adaptation of musical traditions for other cultures.
