Singapore’s national drink Singapore Sling is getting its very own celebratory day. The Raffles Long Bar is set to present Singapore Sling Day in conjunction with International Pineapple Day on June 27, 2022; a special ode to the tropical fruit, a symbol of hospitality, and a key ingredient in the iconic cocktail.
The world-famous cocktail was first invented in 1915 by Ngiam Tong Boon, a Hainanese bartender at Raffles Hotel Singapore, as an ingenious way to disguise a cocktail as a fruit juice. This Singapore Sling Day, enjoy a complimentary glass of Singapore Sling in exchange for a pineapple.
