India is one of Singapore’s largest visitor source markets, after China and Indonesia, with 1.44 million people from the country visiting Singapore in 2018. This was an increase of 13 percent in comparison with 2017.
It is no surprise then that the Singapore Tourism Board is keen to woo more visitors from India. With tourists from non-metro Indian cities seeing an upswing, Singapore Tourism is targeting Tier-II cities in its latest Indian roadshow, starting off in Hyderabad on Tuesday. The roadshow will also cover – Madurai, Thiruvananthapuram, Kolkata, Rajkot, Guwahati, Nagpur and Jalandhar.
The Singapore Tourism Board highlighted some of its big attractions in the Hyderabad roadshow including the Jewel Changi Airport, which opened recently, Rainforest Lumina and events such as the Singapore Food Festival, the Singapore F1 Grand Prix in September and Diwali celebrations in November.
Air carriers like Scoot, Silk Air and Singapore Airlines will also be offering special fares for Indian travellers to Singapore.
