Singapore Traffic Police will now boast of a fleet of BMW cars which will be used for highway patrols from early next year.
Eight cars belonging to the brand-new BMW 3 Series M-Sport have been added to the burgeoning fleet of the Traffic Police.
Car dealer Bavarian Marques Pte Ltd posted the latest photograph of the prized possession of the Singapore Traffic Police.
The post said the car was a BMW 3 Series M-Sport.
These cars could go from zero to 100 kilometres an hour in five seconds with a top speed of 268 km/h. This will be helpful for chasing down lawbreakers on the expressway.
Singapore Police Force said, “The Traffic Police procures new expressway patrol cars periodically as part of its vehicle replacement programme, as well as to enhance its operational capabilities and effectiveness.”
The Traffic Police's current fleet reportedly includes cars from Hyundai, Toyota, Subaru, and Volvo.
A 2006 article from Police Life Monthly said that eight Subaru WRX 2.0 Turbo were bought that year for patrols.
