Singapore reported its sixth COVID-19 death, an 88 year-old male Singapore Permanent Resident.
The patient had a history of heart and kidney disease, cancer and diabetes, Ministry of Health said in a statement. He had no recent travel history to affected countries and regions.
The man was confirmed to have COVID-19 on March 29. He was admitted to the National Centre for Infectious Diseases (NCID) on March 30 and placed under intensive care.
The patient developed serious complications from the COVID-19 infection and eventually succumbed to the infection.
MOH and NCID is providing his family with all necessary assistance.
