Singapore’s COVID-19 cases go past 500 as 54 new cases are reported – 48 imported and 6 local

The Ministry of Health has confirmed 54 new COVID-19 cases in Singapore taking the total number of infected to 509. Of the new cases, 48 have been identified as imported and 6 as local cases. 

Additionally, eight people have recovered and been discharged, bringing the total number of recovered patients to 152. 

The 48 new imported cases had travel history to Europe, North America and ASEAN. All except one were returning residents and Long Term Pass holders. Six additional new cases are currently unlinked with contact tracing underway.

Of the 355 confirmed cases who are still in hospital, most are stable or improving. 15 are in critical condition in the intensive care unit. Two have passed away from complications due to the COVID-19 infection.
