Singapore’s HuM theatre rides on Zee TV’s reach, enters 9.6 million homes

In Singapore’s first, a local theatre company HuM Entertainment has partnered with India’s General Entertainment Channel (GEC) Zee TV to take four of its productions to audiences across 17 countries.

“Very proud, very happy, very excited that we are going into everybody’s living rooms and making them watch our plays,” said Daisy Irani, the founder and creative director of HuM Entertainment in her inimitable style.

In times of COVID-19 when theatres have gone dark, HuM as well as many other local theatre groups in Singapore have received support in the form of grants from the National Arts Council (NAC) to scout for alternative avenues for showcasing their work.

Watch what Deputy CEO of NAC, Paul Tan; Executive Vice President of Zee Network, Tripta Singh; and Daisy Irani have to say on subjects like NAC’s unequivocal backing of local performing arts and productions, Zee’s TtoZee initiative, as well as the four HuM Theatre plays, which will be beamed across Asia starting from August 30.

The plays will be aired on Sundays at 2pm(TH)/3pm(SGT) on Zee TV APAC.
