Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma are back as Harry and Sejal, mesmerising fans with their first chartbuster Radha from the movie.
The song, composed by Pritam and voiced by Shahid Mallya and Sunidhi Chauhan, is the first song from Jab Harry Met Sejal. An upbeat romantic single, the music video has the couple dancing and singing across Europe in the track and creating a vibe for a traditional Bollywood song. Although both the actors’ dialects disappear during the song (since they’re not actually singing), the tongue-in-cheek dialogue before and after they break into song still leaves us with a sense of anticipation about the movie.
True to form, SRK followed through on his message about travelling to the city with the most Sejals. He flew down to Ahmedabad to meet the Sejals there and launched the song. Though the film’s leading lady Anushka Sharma was absent, director Imriaz Ali attended the song launch.
Capturing the hearts of all Sejals, he said, “Please calm down. I have learnt Gujarati specially for you. I am a Punjabi in the film while Anushka is a Gujarati so I have learnt few things from her, like ‘Kem cho, saro che’.” He said ‘I love you’ in Gujarati, causing the fans to go wild and some even screamed – ‘I love you Shah Rukh.’
Anushka Sharma tweeted in response to Shah Rukh’s question if she will be his Radha, Anushka wrote, “Haan Harry! Banungi Teri Radha! I thought you always knew! @iamsrk @RedChilliesEnt @sonymusicindia #RadhaOutNow.”
The film is releasing on August 4.
