Singapore telecom services provider StarHub announced that SIM Only customers can buy a smartphone of their choice with EasyGo, an instalment plan that involves no upfront costs, contracts and zero interest.
The first-of-its-kind offer allows customers to split the payment into small fixed monthly instalments, over a choice of 12 or 24 months, at zero interest and contract-free. Subscribers can also get upfront promotional discounts of up to SGD 379 on selected mobile devices purchased through EasyGo, bringing the cost below retail prices.
“EasyGo will allow them to bypass traditional 24-month mobile plans while enjoying guaranteed savings with the flexibility of SIM Only plans,” said Johan Buse, Chief of Consumer Business Group, StarHub. “Ultimately, we want to lift the restrictions of getting a device upgrade, and reignite exciting experiences for our customers, over and over again with StarHub. The time is perfect, with the launch of exciting new models from our friends at Apple and Samsung.”
EasyGo is available for both existing and new StarHub Mobile customers. All they need to do is to renew or sign up for a new SIM Only plan. For SIM Only with 5G, customers have two choices: Mobile+ SIM Only SGD38 or Mobile+ SIM Only SGD45, for up to 90GB, 1,000 talktime minutes and 12 months of Disney+.
The upcoming Apple iPhone 13 (launching on September 24), Samsung Galaxy S21 5G, Apple iPhone 12, or OPPO Reno6 Pro 5G are among the phone models eligible for purchase under this plan. Customers just need to pay the instalment for the phone at SGD 38-49 monthly, which will be charged together with the SIM Only plan of their choice.
Device trade-ins are also accepted to further offset the monthly charges. They can get a discount of up to SGD 155 off the recommended retail pricing as well.
Customers can decide to clear all installment payments early at one go without any termination, administration, or other hidden fees.
EasyGo is available at all StarHub Shops and will be brought to online shoppers in the next quarter.
