At least 35 people died in a suicide bomb blast that ripped through a political gathering in Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) region on Sunday, media reports said.
Caretaker Information Minister Feroze Jamal Shah Kakakhel told Geo News that more than 200 people have been injured in the blast that took place during the speech of a Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) leader.
The injured were rushed to Timergara and Peshawar for treatment.
Police officials said initial investigation revealed it was a suicide attack, adding that the investigation teams are collecting evidence from the site of the blast.
Pakistan has witnessed a rise in Islamist terror attacks since last year following the breakdown of a ceasefire agreement between the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and the government.
