Excitement is reaching crescendo as Indian origin students get set for the largest cultural and sports festival for Indian students in Singapore – Tarang, which will be kicking off this weekend for its 20th edition!
Some call the festival a place to meet people and have fun, others can't keep the competitor in them at bay.
Modeled after college festivals in India, Tarang has come a long way since its inception in 1999. It has grown from just two in the first rendition to six universities this year, with over 500 participants expected to join the joyous party. Tarang Khel 2019 will be held from 26-27 January; Tarang Kala 2019 will run from 9-10 February.
Anuj Khanna Sohum, Chairman & CEO of technology company Affle, who was one of the founding members of Tarang, enthused, “What’s interesting about this year’s Tarang, is that most of the participants were not even born when Tarang was first held in 1999 in NUS.”
On the final day of Tarang 2019 (Sunday, February 10), winners of the various categories will assemble for the big party. If you want to be a part of the big "tamasha", you can buy your tickets here. Details of the individual games can be found on Tarang Facebook page.
