A Telangana NRI was reported to have been mowed down by a Light Train in San Jose, California, USA last week. Krishna Erravelli (44), was a resident of Albany, Ohio who went to San Jose on official work.
The Alum Rock-bound (VTA) train hit him near North First Street and Component Drive, according to the Santa Clara County Coroner's office on Saturday. Krishna was the second man struck and killed by a light-rail train in recent days, said reports quoted by Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority spokeswoman Linh Hoang.
Several passengers in the train complained minor injuries as the train stopped abruptly. Buses were pressed to move passengers between stations, and regular service resumed after about 45 minutes.
Even as paramedics rushed Krishna to a hospital, he succumbed to his injuries. Erravelli is survived by his wife and two daughters. His parents in Karimnagar are making all efforts to bring his body to the native place to perform last rites.
