With the Hari Raya Puasa holiday coming up on June 15, 2018, traffic flow through the land checkpoints at Woodlands and Tuas is expected to be heavy over the weekend.
Travellers using the land checkpoints during the period of June 14-18 (Thursday to Monday) can expect delays, said a travel advisory issued by the Immigrations and Checkpoints Authority (ICA).
With security checks, traffic build-up is inevitable, especially when large number of travellers use the checkpoints at the same time. Travellers are therefore advised to adjust their travel plans where necessary.
ICA also reminds travellers to not bring in prohibited items such as ‘Pop-Pop” firecrackers and chewing gum. Dutiable or controlled items such as meat products, seafood and potted plants should be declared prior to checks by officers.
Travellers are also reminded to check and ensure that their passports have a remaining validity of six months or more before setting off on their journey.
